RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The wintry weather in Virginia and elsewhere is taking a bite out of air travel at Richmond International Airport.

Spokesman Troy Bell says 116 out of 144 flights have been canceled Thursday because of the snow in the greater Richmond area, as well as adverse weather conditions elsewhere along the Eastern seaboard.

On Wednesday, the airport east of Richmond had 63 cancellations. Bell said it's likely the air disruptions will continue into Friday.

He advises travelers to check their air carrier before heading to the airport.
