A storm over the Waldo Canyon burn scar is expected to drop 0.10 of an inch on the southern portion of the scar, according to a significant weather advisory from the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
The storm is moving slowly eastward from Cascade at 10 mph towards the burn scar.
Colorado Springs Fire Department crews have started flash flood patrols on the west side of town, according to the fire department.
While it would take twice that amount of rain to trigger minor flash flooding, the weather service cautions that people in the flood zone should "be prepared to take shelter in the event these storms intensify and become severe."
