The search for a wanted suspect in Colorado Springs ended in a couch, where a man was found trying to hide from police and a K-9 unit sniffed him out.
Marshall Clinton Tresslar, 32, was wanted on a felony drug charge by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office. Deputies tracked him to an apartment in the 4600 block of Hinsdale Way, off Barnes Road, and requested the Colorado Springs Police Department's K-9 Unit's assistance to apprehend him.
Around 12:49 a.m. Wednesday, police made several attempts to contact the suspect inside the apartment, to no response. Finally entering by force, a K-9 alerted on a couch but no one was found when officers pulled it away from the wall.
When the couch was turned over, Tresslar was found hiding inside and the dog immediately removed him, as officers took him into custody, police said.
Tresslar was taken to a local hospital, where he received medical treatment for minor injuries resulting in the contact with the K-9.
As of Wednesday, Tresslar was held at the El Paso County jail without bond on felony drug charges for possession of methamphetamine and a warrant for failure to appear in court, records show.
