A candlelight vigil for nearly 300 girls kidnapped by a terrorist group in Nigeria will be held at the All Souls Unitarian Church in Colorado Springs Thursday.

The vigil, organized by the NAACP's local chapter, will run from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the church on 730 North Tejon St.

The al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group Boko Haram kidnapped 276 school-age girls from a village school in Chibok in northern Nigeria on April 14 and vanished into a large forest bordering Cameroon.

Now the group's leader has threatened to sell the girls off to the human traffic market, sparking a global movement of support and aid for Nigerian military and law enforcement.

For more information about Thursday night's vigil, call All Souls Unitarian Church at 719-633-7717.
