RED LION, Pa. – Mister Molson’s cancer diagnosis wasn’t going to stop his family from enjoying their last months with him. With the tumor in the golden retriever’s nose growing larger, his owners have been taking him on daily bucket list adventures.
Tim Griffin, Molson’s owner, posted the list on a blog and asked readers for suggestions. Since his March diagnosis, Molson, 12, has gone to the beach, ridden in police cars and fire trucks, gotten married, become a service dog and more.
Their community has made it a mission to help Molson achieve his dreams. The local union of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers elected him honorary president so Molson could check “become president” off his bucket list. Pet artist Michele Ports Gargiulo painted Mister Molson’s portrait. To cross “fly a helicopter” off the list, the Liberty Warbird Association let Molson sit in a restored Vietnam era helicopter so his owner could take photos. Someone saw “ride in a sidecar” on the blog and reached out to Griffin to offer Molson a motorcycle ride.
