Victim of Longmont crash, fire identified

LONGMONT — Authorities have retrieved the body of a man killed when his pickup crashed into a building in Longmont and set it on fire.

The Longmont Times-Call reports (http://tinyurl.com/ngxtgqu) police identified the victim Thursday as 34-year-old Carlos Bustillos of Longmont.

Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur says witnesses reported Bustillos may have had a seizure before the crash Wednesday.

Authorities say two teenage passengers tried to save Bustillos but could not. They escaped unharmed. Satur says he believes Bustillos was their father.

The body of Bustillos' dog, Sugar, was was found at his feet in the pickup.

Satur says the vehicle stopped at an intersection and then accelerated into a warehouse. No other injuries were reported.
