A man found shot to death in an east Colorado Springs townhome over the weekend has been identified as 33-year-old Colorado Springs resident Felipe Garcia.

He is survived by his wife and six children, according to a fundraising page created to support his family. He "was a hardworking, caring, funny, and loving father, husband, brother, uncle, son, and friend that has been taken away from us too soon," according to the page.

Garcia is the city's 15th homicide of the year, Colorado Springs police said.

Police have not named a suspect in the shooting but said Monday all individuals involved are accounted for, although no arrests have been announced.

Garcia's body was found about 2:30 p.m. Sunday at 2005 North Academy Blvd., a rented townhome in the Georgetown Square complex. Neighbors said they were unaware of anyone by that name living there. Instead, a couple and their three children had been living there for over a year, one neighbor said, asking not to be named.

The neighbor said he was home all day Sunday and was outside most of the day, but didn't hear shots or loud bangs. The neighborhood was quiet until police showed up, he said.

Another neighbor, who also declined to be named, said 2005 N. Academy was a party house.

People were always coming and going, from the home where the two adults lived with three children under the age of 7, she said.

"Strangers would knock but then walk right in. It's like an open house," the woman said.

The Gazette's Ellie Mulder contributed to this report.
