COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Someone stole from a club that gives so much—now that club is in need of help from the public.

Staff for the El Pomar Boys and Girls Club in Colorado Springs returned from their holiday weekend to find their 13-passenger van had been stolen. The lock on the gate where the van was kept had been broken.

The 2001 white Dodge Ram was used by the Club to transport kids from local schools to the Club.

“This is an extremely unfortunate way for our organization to start the new year” said James Sullivan, President and CEO. “Unfortunately, the van is the only vehicle we have to transport kids. Parents on the west side of Colorado Springs rely on us to pick their kids up from school and get them safely to the Club until they can pick them up. We will continue to provide transportation to the Club but until we are able to purchase a new vehicle we are relying on short term solutions”.

The Boys and Girls Club is asking for the public’s help to raise funds for a new van. Donations can be made by calling 719-570-7077.
