Updates: Colorado Springs-area teams in state high school basketball tournaments

Here's a look at Thursday's Colorado high school basketball tournament games involving teams from the Colorado Springs area.

- 3A girls, quarterfinals: St. Mary's defeated Cedaredge 64-33 in a morning game at DU. The Pirates will play in the semifinals Friday against the winner of Pagosa Springs-Lamar. St. Mary's emerges as team to beat in Class 3A, says Paul Klee.

- 3A girls, quarterfinals: CSCS vs. Centauri, at DU, 4 p.m.

- 2A boys, quarterfinals: Ellicott vs. Yuma, at Budweiser Events Center, 10:15 a.m.

- 4A girls, semifinals: Mesa Ridge vs. Pueblo South, at Denver Coliseum, 4 p.m. 

- 4A girls, semifinals: Widefield vs. Evergreen, at Denver Coliseum, 5:30 p.m.

Note: The Lewis-Palmer boys play in the Class 4A semifinals at 4 p.m. Friday against Pueblo West at the Denver Coliseum.
