A two-vehicle crash with injuries briefly shut down two westbound lanes of East Woodmen Road by Interstate 25 Thursday, Colorado Springs police confirmed.

At least one person was trapped inside a car when a dark green Jeep Cherokee and a red Hyundai Santa Fe collided near the bridge to the interstate, Lt. John Godsey said.

According to a tweet from Colorado Springs fire, the person trapped was extricated within four minutes. Injuries were minor but both drivers were taken to a local hospital for medical attention, Godsey said.

All lanes of East Woodmen Road reopened about 11:50 a.m., police said.
