LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — The Great Plains Art Museum at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln has named Melynda Seaton as its curator and administrator.

Seaton is an art history doctoral student at the University of Oklahoma. She received her master's degree in art history from the University of North Texas.

Seaton says the new job connects her to her research on the art of the American West.

The Great Plains Art Museum's mission is to collect, preserve, research and interpret the art of the Great Plains region.
