Colorado Springs police identified a 17-year-old male as a suspect in the shooting at University Drive that injured three people Wednesday.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Miguel Alvarado-Menchaca for three counts of attempted murder, according to a statement from police spokesman Larry Herbert.

All three victims, whose identities were not released, remained hospitalized Thursday and were expected to survive, Herbert said.

Alvarado-Menchaca should be considered armed and dangerous, the statement read.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 9:30 p.m. near Pikes Peak Avenue and University Drive, just west of Academy Boulevard.

Police and K-9 units searched the area into early morning Thursday, but were unable to locate the shooter.

There was no information detailing how Alvarado-Menchaca and the victims knew each other.

Anyone with information on Alvarado-Menchaca's whereabouts can call police at 444-7000.
