UCCS softball advances in RMAC Tournament

Jessica Belsterling and Emily Jennings both hit home runs and Jourdan Hitchings went 4-for-4 as Colorado-Colorado Springs run-ruled Colorado State-Pueblo 12-1 in six innings Friday in the second round of the RMAC Tournament.

The No. 6-seeded Mountain Lions will play No. 8-seed Fort Lewis at 5:30 p.m. The winner of that game will advance to the RMAC championship game on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. Fort Lewis beat Metro State earlier Friday to advance.

UCCS’ 27 wins are the most since the 36-win season of 2007.

The Mountain Lions defeated No. 3 Chadron State 4-3 in eight innings on Friday.
