Detectives found two pipe bombs Thursday evening inside a house in southeast Fountain as part of an Army investigation.

The bombs as well as "other possible explosive items" were rendered safe and removed from the house at 509 Turf Trail Place by a regional bomb squad unit, as well as by Fort Carson Explosive Ordinance Disposal personnel, according to a news release by Fountain police.

Neither Army officials nor Fountain police said whether anyone was arrested in connection with the bombs. Nor did they give any indication about what led detectives to the house.

A call to Army's Criminal Investigation Command was not immediately returned Friday morning.
