Two motorcycles in wreck, four sent to Colorado Springs hospital

By Andrea Sinclair Published: August 19, 2013

Four people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after two motorcycles collided with a truck Sunday morning in Colorado Springs.

Police said a truck hauling a trailer was traveling west on Platte Avenue around 9:45 a.m. and turned into Wooten Road in front of two motorcycles, calculating their speed incorrectly. One motorcycle struck the trailer and the other motorcycle turned onto the ground.

Each of the motorcycle drivers had a passenger and all four people were taken to Memorial Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said. The truck driver was not injured.

Police said no traffic citations were filed Sunday but the crash remained under investigation.
