Colorado Springs police arrested two 18-year-old men Saturday afternoon in connection with the theft of IDs, credit cards and tools from a string of car and garage burglaries.
Justin Pace and Scotty Johnson were arrested in a home in the 4100 block of North Chestnut Street, where police were called after a woman in the home found driver’s licenses and credit cards that appeared to have been stolen. When police arrived, Pace grabbed the IDs and tried to run from officers, police said. He reportedly tossed the IDs in a nearby alley, and eventually police chased him back to the house, where he was arrested. Johnson was arrested in the house.
Police also found allegedly stolen items in the garage, which police have connected to two open-garage-door burglaries on the 6500 block of Many Moon Drive and the 6600 block of Sky Hawk Court. The items were also connected to two car thefts that had been reported earlier on 6400 block of Wilson Road and the 1400 block of Bison Ridge Drive.
