Colorado Springs police arrested two men Thursday in connection with a Nov. 26 shooting at the Memorial Park skate park.

Jeritt Tardiff, 20, and Joaquin Soto, 23, were taken to the El Paso County jail on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder, said police spokesman Larry Herbert. Soto's bail was set at $100,000 and Tardiff's is $50,0000.

The shooting happened during the afternoon of Nov. 26 when an apparent argument over a girl became violent, police said. A 22-year-old man was taken to Memorial Hospital Central, had surgery and was listed in critical condition. Herbert said Friday that the man was expected to survive.

According to the initial report, the shooter fled the park shortly after the incident.

A witness reported to The Gazette that the victim was talking to someone when another man asked "are you talking to my girl?" The man apparently began chasing the victim with a skateboard before leaving the park.

The witness, 19-year-old Breanna Hemphill, said the man returned 20 minutes later with a friend and a gun.
