Two men were arrested Tuesday night in connection with an armed robbery that led to a shootout in east-central Colorado Springs, police said.

Around 6:22 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of East Platte Avenue where they learned shots were fired following a robbery at nearby barber shop, police said.

Witnesses told police that a man entered High Definition Cutz and robbed a man there at gunpoint before fleeing on foot with another suspect. The robbery victim and his friends chased the suspects, at which point one of the robbers used a handgun to assault one of the pursuers, according to police.

One of the victim's friends produced a gun and fired with his own weapon, but did not strike anyone, said police.

Officers arrested Lee Wildes, 20, and Stacey Anderson, 21, in connection with the robbery and assault.
