KXRM viewers will notice a new face on Fox 21 broadcasts within the next few days. Say hello to Daniela Leon, the station’s new reporter.

Leon was born in Anaheim, Calif., and moved to Kansas at age 7. She graduated from Gardner Egerton High School and received a full-ride journalism scholarship from Kansas State University. During her senior year, Leon joined CBS affiliate WIBW-TV in Topeka, Kan., where she worked as a news reporter and a weekend anchor.

“We are excited to have Daniela join the Fox 21 News team,” said news director Joe Cole. “She comes with some great experience and wonderful storytelling skills. She also has spent some time on the anchor desk along her career path,  which will allow her to fill in on the Fox 21 desk.”

Megan Hucks joins Colorado Springs TV staff.

When Leon is not working, she's running around town, watching her beloved Angels on TV or simply enjoying her new home. Her first day at KXRM is Jan. 8.
