KXRM viewers might have noticed a new face on Fox 21 broadcasts the last couple of days. Say hello to Megan Hucks, the station’s new reporter and weekend anchor. A South Carolina native, Hucks earned her bachelor’s degree in communication from Coastal Carolina University. She comes to Colorado Springs after working at NBC affiliate WITN-TV in Greenville, North Carolina. While at WITN she covered the controversial HB2 “bathroom bill” legislation and Hurricane Matthew.
“We are excited to have Megan Hucks join the team,” said Fox 21 news director Joe Cole. “She’s an outstanding journalist and will fit in nicely with both our weekend and weekday morning teams. She will join Maddie Kirker (and Chester) on the Weekend Morning show from 5-7 a.m.”
The new hire already seems to be blending in well. Hucks has been taking some gentle teasing on-air from Fox 21 chief meteorologist Justin Chambers about her height (she’s 5’11”) and for being a fan of the Carolina Panthers.
Hucks replaces Macy Egeland, who left KXRM/Fox 21 in July. You can follow Ms. Hucks on Facebook @meganhucksTV and on Twitter at @meganhucks.
