Tornado spotted in northeastern Colorado; severe weather warnings issued in some counties

Northeastern Colorado, including parts of the Denver metro area, is under a severe thunderstorm watch Wednesday afternoon.

The storms could produce large hail, damaging winds and heavy rains, according to the National Weather Service. A tornado was reported near LaSalle about 3:30.

The National Weather Service reported a tornado on the ground six miles east of Akron. Northwestern Yuma County is under a tornado warning until 5:30 p.m., according to the Denver Post. 

Northwestern Sedgwick and northeastern Logan counties are under a tornado warning until 5:45 p.m.

The Greeley Tribune reported that a tornado warning in central Weld County expired at 5 p.m.
