Three people were stabbed early Sunday following an apparent road rage incident in southeast Colorado Springs, police said.
Officers found a man who was stabbed several times in the 300 block of North Garhart Drive shortly after 1:30 a.m. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. The man's two stepsons suffered minor injuries.
The incident began when the two brothers were driving north on Academy Boulevard from Highway 85/85. According to police, another driver began driving aggressively, swerving toward them, following close behind, then getting ahead and braking sharply.
While the brothers called their stepfather for help, the other driver continued to follow them and hit their car when they tried to pull into a parking lot in the 300 block of North Garhart Drive, police said.
When the stepfather arrived, police said, he approached the other vehicle and was stabbed when the driver got out with a knife. The man also attacked the two brothers.
The man fled in a gray Hyundai hatchback with a broken rear window before police arrived.
The names of the stabbing victims were not released.
