Colorado Springs police busted an afternoon gathering Wednesday in Memorial Park, detaining 14 people and arresting three.

Officers responded to a call about drug activity in the park about 4:30 p.m. They approached the group in question and found a handgun, crack cocaine, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia. Nearby, police also conducted a traffic stop.

Fourteen people were detained on suspicion of alcohol violations, gambling in the park and a violation related to the traffic stop. Police arrested Christina McConnell, 37, Doran McConnell, 33, and Anthony Toney, 50, without saying what crimes they are suspected of committing.

The investigation is ongoing.
