After traveling to 6-2 Legend on Tuesday, Mesa Ridge begins defense of its Metro League title at home Thursday against Harrison. The Grizzlies went 14-0 in league play last season en route to a 23-0 regular season. . TCA, one of only six remaining undefeated squads in 3A, is led by a suffocating defense averaging a mere 28 points against. . Last season, Peyton suffered losses of 19 and 38 points to 2A power Lutheran. On Saturday, the Panthers nearly turned the tables but fell to the Lions on a last-second basket, 64-63.

Doherty had yet to register any points in conference, with only one game played, but was on its way to a win over Coronado on Monday.
