Cheyenne Mountain ran its winning streak to four Thursday with an early start to PPAC play, pulling away from Palmer Ridge. Sand Creek went 2-1 at a tournament at Mullen, highlighted by a triple-OT win over Grand Junction on Friday before falling to host Mullen the next day. TCA won its third straight after an opening-night loss with a 54-48 win over Pueblo Centennial on Friday. . Team Record Last Week

Peak Conference

1. Lewis-Palmer 7-1 No. 1

2. Doherty 2-3 No. 2

3. Pine Creek 3-2 No. 3

Breakdown: Lewis-Palmer is clearly the class of the area. A 6-0 drubbing of Resurrection Christian on Friday had to have raised eyebrows north of County Line Road — the one that separates El Paso and Douglas counties. And that’s not the only impressive win. The Rangers have outscored opponents 50-12. They’ve posted three shutouts, scored eight goals three times and notched at least six goals another four times. Their only loss came in Monument to perennial power Ralston Valley, a game that saw the Rangers leading 2-1 after the first period. ... Doherty and Pine Creek both went 0-1 last week, with the Spartans dropping a 10-1 league game to Mountain Vista and the Eagles falling in conference play to Bishop Machebeuf. Neither team moves in the rankings because no one else has done enough to warrant a climb. ... That could change soon if Air Academy can play like it did Monday night in a 7-1 win over Rampart. The Kadets, a team not built like they have been in the past, were impressive and dominant in the victory, banking early conference points to help them in their playoff quest.
