Breakdown: Pine Creek and Fountain-Fort Carson enter the week tied atop the league standings with 2-1 marks. Last week, the Eagles swept Rampart, while the Trojans needed a late rally Saturday to salvage a split with Palmer. This week, Pine Creek and Doherty meet, while F-FC plays Liberty and Rampart hooks up with Palmer. . Lewis-Palmer (6-0 PPAC) and Palmer Ridge (6-1) start a key series, and Monument bragging rights, on Saturday. The Rangers, who have allowed only 14 runs in league play, host the first game, with action moving north April 22. Speaking of bragging rights, Mesa Ridge (3-0 Metro) hosts Widefield (2-1) on Tuesday in the annual crosstown battle. . TCA and St. Mary's won twice last week to maintain their 1-2 rankings, while Peyton stayed at No. 3, despite seeing its season-opening, nine-game winning streak end with a setback to Kiowa on Saturday.

Breakdown: Only Pine Creek and Liberty emerged from last week with unbeaten 5A league records. Before the teams meet April 23, both have key nonleague games. Liberty knocked off Lewis-Palmer, 3-0 on Monday, while Pine Creek travels to Mountain Vista, which has claimed two of the past three 5A state titles, on Friday. . Cheyenne Mountain dispatched Pine Creek and Sand Creek, both previously undefeated, last week. Next up for the Indians is a Thursday match at Discovery Canyon in a battle of the last two unbeaten teams in PPAC play. First place in the 4A Metro is up for grabs Tuesday when Mesa Ridge (6-4, 4-0) travels to Woodland Park (6-2, 2-0). . In 3A Region 2, ECA, Manitou Springs and TCA (3-6 overall) all sport 2-0 records. On Tuesday, Manitou Springs plays at TCA. Meanwhile, in Region 1, St. Mary's, tied for the top spot with Fountain Valley, has quietly won five straight since a tough loss at Manitou Springs on March 21.
