Some 22,000 Girl Scouts throughout Colorado will begin the organization’s annual cookie sale Sunday.

S’mores, the most popular cookie flavor to launch in the 100 years that Girl Scouts have been selling cookies, are returning for this year’s lineup.

The crunchy graham sandwich cookie with creamy chocolate and marshmallow-like filling joins other favorites: Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Trefoils, Do-Si-Dos, Savannah Smiles and gluten-free Toffee-tastic.

Boxes are $4 each, except S’mores and gluten-free Toffee-tastic cookies are $5 a package.

Cookies will be on sale across Colorado through March 11, in front of retailers such as grocery stores, door-to-door and online. To purchase cookies online, customers must get an invite to shop at a girl’s personal website.

Each purchase supports girls in developing five lifelong skills: goal-setting, decision-making, money management, people skills and business ethics.

Proceeds from sales help pay for the activities and adventures members do as Girl Scouts.
