Imagination Celebration is bringing an internationally renown Native American theater company to Colorado. "The Great Mountain" is an imaginative Native American story of courage and empowerment. Internationally renowned for its artistry and innovation, Red Sky, is Canada's leading company of world Indigenous performance in dance, theatre and music. This eco-adventure story and action-packed play entertains and empowers the imaginations of children and adults. This international tour engages all ages on Monday, February 10th at 6:30 p.m. in Armstrong Hall at Colorado College. Family affordable tickets are on sale at www.imaginationcelebration.org
Inspired by a traditional Northern Plains story, Jumping Mouse, this story illustrates the transformative power of nature, and empowers young people to care for our environment. The play focuses on young people's capacity to address pressing environmental issues and to recognize their own ability to make a difference to the future of our planet.
Doors open at 5:30pm with educational hands-on activities and local Native American ambassadors. Performance runs from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by autographs with the cast and free refreshments.
"Imagination Celebration is presenting this family experience in Armstrong Theater at Colorado College so every child and adult has a close up experience of theater magic," says Michaela Hightower, Event Coordinator. "We are delighted to include our friends from One Nation Walking Together, a very important sister nonprofit, serving Native American people.
Imagination Celebration has been serving the Pikes Peak Region for over 25 years. This mission-driven, not for profit organization connects people to the brain-stimulating, community-building, life-enhancing power of creativity by inspiring artistic and intellectual curiosity; instigating community collaborations; and promoting life-long experiential learning that helps us thrive in a changing world.
