The Gazette's Paul Klee gives his best plays for Week 8

Spread offense

  1. Patriots (-7.5) vs. Chargers

There’s a trend for teams coming off a game against the Broncos. The Giants were only 3-point underdogs to Seattle the next week (and lost by 17). The Chargers should be bigger 'dogs here.

  1. 49ers (+13) at Eagles

Hey, look on the bright side, Broncos Country. The next three opponents — Chiefs, Eagles, Pats — all have been stung with major injury issues. Philly lost its all-timer left tackle, Jason Peters.

  1. Chiefs (-7) vs. Broncos

If the Chiefs weren’t coming off consecutive losses, I would lift Denver’s chances. Kansas City’s defense is a perfect antidote to a struggling offense. But K.C's desperate. The Broncos are stuck.

—Last week: 1-2 ATS; Season: 7-12 ATS
