TGI Fridays in Colorado Springs has closed, according to a sign on the restaurant’s door.

The sign read: In here, the party’s over. This Fridays location has closed. Thanks for your past patronage and ‘cheers’ to the good times we’ve had together. Please check Fridays.com for other restaurant locations in nearby cities.

The number listed on the sign went straight to voice mail and a message was not returned.

Elijah Segura said he visited the restaurant for its appetizers. “I’m really disappointed TGI Fridays is closed, he said. “It was a great place.”

The restaurant was located west of Interstate 25 and north of East Woodmen Road.

The first Fridays opened in 1965 in New York, on the east side of Manhattan, and franchising began in 1971.
