A group of teens reported being held up at gunpoint and robbed, Colorado Springs police said.

Four recent high school grads told police they were walking out of the Cinemark theater on Powers Boulevard and Carefree Circle around 12:48 a.m. Thursday when a man in a black Ford Explorer stopped, leaned out from the vehicle and reportedly pointed a gun at the group, demanding their wallets.

The armed robber was accompanied by three other people in the SUV, police said.

Barbara Miller, police spokeswoman, said there was no description of the Explorer's driver available, but the front passenger was a man in his early 20s, wearing bandanas and gloves that covered his arms and hands.

Officers remained on scene conducting a search of the area for three hours and the investigation is ongoing, Miller said.

Anyone with information can call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
