Two teenagers were arrested Sunday after they allegedly went on an hourlong fire extinguisher rampage, menacing employees at six businesses in Colorado Springs and spraying them with chemicals, police said.

Trevor Rather, 19, and a 17-year-old male whose name was not released were arrested in the spree, police said.

According to KKTV, the attacks started just before 4:20 a.m. at a 7-Eleven in the 3000 block of West Colorado Avenue, then moved north to the Super 8 Motel in the 4600 block of Rusina Road. At 4:47 a.m., they hit a 7-Eleven at 4710 Centennial Blvd. before crossing over Interstate 25 and targeting a Loaf 'N Jug at 5280 N. Academy Blvd., where they sprayed a customer, Gazette news partner, KKTV, reported.

An hour later, the pair crossed back over to west Colorado Springs and went to a Shell gas station at 120 S. Rockrimmon Blvd., KKTV reported.

At 5:36 a.m., the teenagers ended their spree at the McDonald's on the 8100 block of Voyager Parkway, spraying employees at the drive-thru window, KKTV reported.

The teenagers were arrested on suspicion of multiple counts of harassment and theft, police said.

Colorado Springs Fire Department spokesman Capt. Steve Wilch said the fire-retardant chemicals were not toxic but could cause skin irritation.
