AURORA — An Aurora teenager accused of stabbing her mother 79 times in the face and neck has been formally charged.

KMGH-TV reports (http://bit.ly/15CDK5v ) 18-year-old Isabella Guzman appeared in court Thursday on a charge of first-degree murder for the Aug. 28 death of 47-year-old Yun-Mi Hoy.

According to an arrest affidavit, Hoy's husband told police that Isabella attacked his wife in their upstairs bathroom, then walked out past him, staring straight ahead and holding a knife.

Hoy called police to her home earlier that day because of Isabella's behavior, and officers warned the teen her mother could throw her out of the home. Police also say the teen spat in her mother's face and sent her a threatening email before the slaying.
