Police officers used a TASER to subdue an uncooperative man suspected of being drunk just past midnight Friday.

Police said they found 42-year-old David McIver passed out in the driver's seat of a running vehicle that was parked on Purgatory Drive east of North Union Boulevard, at 12:48 a.m.

Officers woke the man and told him to get out of the vehicle but said McIver would not comply. Officers said after they removed him from the vehicle, the suspect continued to resist arrest, so they TASERed him.

McIver was arrested for obstructing a police officer and driving while under the influence.
