Armando Olivero is a musical force to be reckoned with in southern Colorado. He is also the featured entertainer on the Friday, June 16, live Take 10 performance on the Gazette Facebook page in the noon hour.
One of the instruments that Armando has mastered is the guitar and that mastery continues to evolve for him.
"I am focusing on the chemistry of the instrument and the music and how to get the most out of it. It means working outside of the box to make it a tool that can be multifaceted."
Olivero says it is also a form of a style called Airtap. He describes it as playing a combo of melody, percussion and bass together on the same instrument. Olivero emulates Michael Hedges, who he calls the grandfather of Airtap, who made this form of music popular in the 1980s.
Olivero describes his music in one word, "Peaceful. There is no anger in my music. I want to make people feel good and spread a little happiness in the world and I have the tools to do it."
