When you hear the phrase "paranormal fiction," does it conjure images of Rod Serling on "The Twilight Zone" and the stories he'd tell that would make you look to alternate realities? In the next Take 10 segment, live on the Gazette News Facebook platform on Friday, Sept. 15, during the noon hour, may inspire you to smile the same wry grin that Serling would do on his classic show. Author Frank Dorchak will read three of his short stories to get you in touch with your inner alternate reality. Paul Neal Rohrer will help Dorchak with his readings.

Dorchak has written more than 100 short stories and 18 of them were published. He also has has written five published novels.

He started writing his brand of unique tales when he was 6 years old. He says it wasn't until he was in the Air Force that he got back into author mode, and has been doing it ever since.

He believes that at the end of our Take 10 live broadcast you will have a better understanding of him and his writing mindset.

"I have a different point of view about life, the universe and everything else," Dorchak said. "I want your Take 10 viewers to come away from the broadcast with the feeling that I can tell a good story."

Dorchak says that one of his proudest moments as an author was after the release of his first book, "Sleepwalkers." A reader told him that the book helped her with her life-struggles and helped her remember her dreams. Dorchak said that touched him emotionally, "It's really heartfelt. It really grabs you and stops you in your tracks. It's hard to get past that."

Dorchak will read three of his stories, with Rohrer, on Friday during the noon hour on the Gazette News Facebook platform.
