A suspected drunk driver careened into an occupied apartment Saturday morning, destroying a family's home, Colorado Springs police said.

Police say Joshua Ender, 35, was driving "at a high rate of speed" on the 1600 block of Chapel Hills Drive when his vehicle veered off the roadway and slammed into a parked car before crashing through a unit at The Glen at Briargate apartment complex.

The people inside the apartment at the time of the crash were not hurt.

Ender was cited for several traffic violations, including driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, police say.
