Suspected car thief pistol whips man in the face in east Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs Police Department is looking for a man they suspect pistol whipped another man and stole his car.

At 9:20 p.m., a man was sitting in his car in the 2900 block of Galley Road about to leave work when another man approached his door asking for help. When the man in the car opened his door, he was pistol whipped in the face and ordered out the car, police said. He was not seriously injured.

The other man jumped in his car and drove eastbound on Galley Road.

Police described the car thief as a man in his 20s wearing dark clothing. The car is a black Pontiac G6 with Colorado license plate 304-ZFU.
