
A Douglas County sheriff’s deputy trying to help a motorist Friday evening fired at the driver after he got out of his vehicle with an assault rifle, authorities said.
“Suspect produced a weapon, the deputy gave commands, feared for his life and deployed his weapon,” the sheriff’s office posted in a Tweet Friday night.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said the officer-involved shooting occurred on County Line Road, just east of Santa Fe Boulevard.
