Carlos Echeandia and wife Marcia, owners of Carlos’ Bistro, 1025 S. 21st St., are as excited as children on Christmas morning. And why not? For the second consecutive year, their fine dining establishment earned the top score in the 2014 Zagat Survey America’s Top Restaurants.

The restaurant was named the No. 1 restaurant in Colorado with 29 points for food, 25 points for decor and
28 points for service out of a perfect
30 points.

Other Colorado Springs restaurants listed in the guide are the Penrose Room at The Broadmoor in fifth place and Walter’s Bistro in 15th place.
