Sunny weather to end Sunday with 1 to 3 inches of snow

Friday's warm weather and sunny skies will fade as the weekend progresses, ending finally with rain and snow Sunday and up to three inches of snow by early Monday morning.

Clouds will increase across the region Saturday, as a low pressure system moves into Colorado from the northwest, said forecasters with the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 72 and a low of 40 forecast with a 30 percent chance of showers overnight.

Then, on Sunday, rain and snow are expected all day with a high of 42 degrees and one to three inches of snow accumulation possible in Colorado Springs metro areas.

Winter Storm Watches have been issued for portions of eastern Colorado, including the Palmer Divide region.
