Strippers sue Colorado club for failing to pay wages, taking tips

A group of strippers in Grand Junction are suing to force the club owner to keep his hands off their tips and pay them a wage, according to a class-action lawsuit. Their lawyer hopes more dancers join the fight.

The dancers at Fantasy Gentlemen's Club aren't paid anything by club owner Kevin Eardley, and, instead, must pay the club to work there, said lawyer, Mari Newman of the Denver firm of Killmer, Lane & Newman, which specializes in civil rights cases.

They also must share their tips with the club's bouncers and disc jockeys, as well as pay fines for things like trading shifts with other dancers or for the conduct of customers, Newman said in a statement Tuesday.
