A sting operation conducted at two southeast Colorado Springs massage parlors led to the arrest of several people Tuesday, police said.
Arworn Hamilton, Misook Sledge, and Sang White were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking, pimping, prostitution, pandering and providing a place for prostitution, Colorado Springs police said.
The joint operation involving the department's Human Trafficking Unit, the Colorado State Patrol and Homeland Security was conducted in an effort to identify victims of sex trafficking. Two women were identified as victims and have been offered services to assist in their recovery, police said.
The operations were conducted at the Sakura Therapy, 1807 B Street, and at World Massage Therapy Spa, 4080 Clear View Frontage Road, said police Sgt. Craig Simpson.
The Human Trafficking Unit has recovered 25 underage victims of commercial sexual exploitation and 34 adult victims in Colorado Springs since January, police said. The unit additionally arrested seven pimps and five "Johns," or commercial sex customers. Nine people are under investigation for soliciting for underage prostitution. The unit also recovered $38,000 in cash, police said.
