The Colorado State Patrol released the identities of the three people who died and one who was in serious condition following a single-car rollover early Sunday morning, south of Fountain on Interstate 25.
The driver was identified as Jade Valdez, 23, from Pueblo, Colorado State Trooper Josh Lewis confirmed.
Ashley Maldonado, 21, Victor Hernandez-Briano, 30, and Eladio Esperanza-Hernandez, 33, all from Pueblo, died in the crash.
According to a statement released by state patrol, the wreck happened shortly before 7 a.m. about 5 miles south of Fountain on southbound I-25, north of the Pikes Peak International Raceway.
A dark green Honda Accord ran off the left side of the road into the center median and struck a guardrail, continuing into the median and rolling one-and-a-half times until it came to a stop against a concrete drainage culvert.
Valdez was ejected from the Honda when the car overturned, pinning her down and causing moderate to serious injuries, according to state patrol. Valdez was not wearing a seat belt, according to Colorado State Trooper Heather Cobler.
All three passengers, who were not wearing seat belts, were also ejected from the car during the crash and died as a result of their injuries, according to the state patrol.
Lewis said the crash remained under investigation and did have information on possible criminal charges.
