Thousands of dollars worth of pot was seized from the home of a Colorado Springs man Thursday, after he was arrested for allegedly attempting to sell marijuana to a Pueblo county pot shop, authorities said.

Pueblo County Sheriff's deputies said Thomas Randal Salsman, 56, admitted to having a grow operation for more than two decades after he was arrested in Pueblo Wednesday.

Undercover narcotics detectives seized 18 ounces of marijuana and a handgun from Salsman's car during the arrest, deputies said. After obtaining a search warrant, deputies said they seized an additional 20 ounces from his Colorado Springs home.

Authorities said the combined value of the pot amounts to more than $15,000.

Salsman, who is being held in Pueblo County jail, is facing several felony charges, including possession with intent to distribute and felony possession of more than 12 ounces.

Marijuana shops and dispensaries are prohibited from purchasing marijuana from anyone who isn't a state-licensed grower, authorities said.
