DENVER (AP) — Colorado officials say a hardware failure has destroyed certain computer files regarding gambling and medical marijuana industry licenses.
The files couldn't be recovered from a back-up system either.
The Governor's Office of Information Technology and the Department of Revenue said Friday that licensees' authorization to do business won't be affected, but they will be talking to some licensees who may have to refile information with the state.
State officials said Friday that they need to re-establish medical marijuana industry licensee files dating back to April 2012 and gambling licensee files from June 2012 to November 2012.
They say they are working to prevent future losses of files.
