SACRAMENTO, Calif - The Rivercats overcame an outstanding offensive performance by Colorado Springs' Kent Matthes to prevail 9-5 late Saturday night.

Matthes went 4 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, and scored two runs, thus having a part in all of the Sky Sox's runs.

He was helped by Tim Wheeler, who drove him in twice. Matthes drove in Ben Paulsen, who had two hits, twice as well.

Sacramento scored four times in the first but the Sky Sox tied the game with two in the second and two in the fourth. The River Cats pulled away from there, aided by eight walks from four Sky Sox pitchers.
