Having blown late leads in each of the past two games, the Sky Sox made Sunday's advantage hold up.
Ben Paulsen had a three-run home run, and Mitchell Boggs and Matt McClendon combined for 31/3 innings of scoreless relief as Colorado Springs defeated the Tacoma Raniers 5-2 Sunday at Tacoma.
Starter Sean Gallagher (1-2) struck out nine in his 52/3 innings for the Sky Sox. Both runs scored against him were unearned.
Paulsen's shot in the third off Tacoma starter Andrew Carraway (6-6) staked Colorado Springs to a 3-0 lead. The Sky Sox made it 5-0 in the fifth when Jose Gonzalez scored on a fielding error and Reid Brignac came home on a wild pitch.
A three-error sixth inning allowed the Raniers to score twice.
Boggs' 21/3 innings of scoreless relief helped erase the memory of a tough outing on Friday.
