A violent Saturday in Colorado Springs left two people dead and several injured after two shootings were reported in less than 24 hours.

The first one was reported about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

Colorado Springs Police said they responded to a shots-fired call at the Pine Creek Village Apartments, 960 Chapman Drive, where they found a dead man and a 15-year-old girl with a non life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police have not released the dead man's name and did not specify whether he died from a gunshot wound.

Then, at about 11:30 Saturday night, Colorado Springs police responded to reports of a shooting at 726 Winnepeg Drive, northwest of Fountain Boulevard and Circle Drive and about three miles away from the first shooting.

There they found three male victims, one dead and two suffering gunshot wounds. The survivors were taken to the hospital where they were listed in critical condition, police said.

No update on their condition was available Sunday.

Again, police did not release any of the victim's names or whether the dead man had been shot.

The two Saturday shootings come after police responded to reports of shots being fired at the same apartment complex, The Pine Creek Village Apartments, about 9:45 p.m. Thursday and again at about 5:15 a.m. Friday.

No injuries were reported in either of those calls, police said.

Late Sunday, police said they were still collecting evidence and would not release further information until the investigations are complete.

If the two deaths are ruled homicides, they will be the 6th and 7th homicides in Colorado Springs so far this year. At this time last year, seven homicides also had been confirmed.

Those with information about either case can call police at 444-7000 or Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP (7867).
