Authorities are searching for three people involved in a shooting in the Security-Widefield area south of Colorado Springs.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office received a report of a shooting in the 4800 block of San Amels Way, near South Powers Boulevard, just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Gazette news partner KKTV reports that two men rang the doorbell of a home, and shot the homeowner after he refused to let them inside. The man was taken to the hospital. Details of his condition were not immediately available.

The suspects are considered  armed and dangerous, the Sheriff's Office said, advising residents in the area to stay in their homes, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
